We are grateful to Ludwig Meyer, Archiv für Kunstgeschichte, who considers this painting to be of „remarkable“ quality. Meyer believes to recognize a precursor of Rueland Frueauf the Younger and compares the composition with famous works by Frueauf in the picture gallery of the Klosterneuburg monastery near Vienna (written correspondence, 23 January 2010).
